Hi All,
Did all see the NOS tanks on sleaze?I thought what the hell fancy a new tank.Then went right off the idea already over 500 quid and not finished yet.WTH is going on I only paid a grand for  the whole frackin bike.I am all for keeping to originals but hey again getting out priced.
Restoring is getting to be a pain.Your thoughts.

Take your point but on this there is defiantly an opening for a engineering company to make a killing here.640 for a gold one and over 600 for a k6 one.On a another point someone paid 310 for a seat when further down the listing same seat same number for 187 plus 41 post even with customs due still cheaper from the states.I cant fathom their thinking like I said in previous posts I will buy genuine where possible but I do have a limit.Cheers mate

The last NOS candy Gold 500 tank I saw on ebay cost me £300+ after import duties but i had been quoted more than that just to spray my old one so I thought it was OK

I wanted the f1 tank, but I just new whatever I bid was going to get beaten in the last few iseconds, it seems that there are many people prepared to pay whatever it takes to get the rare parts, I don't think the tanks were to pricey , if silvers were selling the same the price would be much higher.plus VAT aswell,

I suppose Dave Silver / CSMNL have set the market price for NOS and nearly as good as parts... .. so that anything thats marginally cheaper than they are looks like a bargain. Days of cheapn as you like shed disposal / garage sales look almost gone

Thanks guys for all comments.I now know what they are worth.
On another front I have found a super clean used one but Its in CB500/4 brown colours not that this bothers me but Did they do a brown 750k2 or maybe has its been resprayed? Also if it is a CB500/4 one would it fit the 750?
Compared to what went the other day on sleaze it reasonably priced.

Glad I keep all my old parts off my cb750's Hanging on the wall is the original candy gold tank off my bike and one off my k7 its surprising what you collect over the years of restoring bikes

LOL Yeah I'd agree with that comment 100% as well, magpies ain't got nothing on bike restorers

  Worse than magpies, we even save bits that aint shiny Over the years I've saved stuff which most people would chuck in a skip, but nearly always find a use for it, even just as a pattern to make a part!

I've found myself doing the same and I've only been at this lark 3 years.
