my question ?
which yellow  (i have four from the plug) goes to which wire? as they just came apart in my hands.

5 wires ? 2 on the inside coil (one yello one Green) and 3 on the outside coil all yellow i think.

Hi billy I asked the same question a wee while back you've got 3 yellow wires and one white it probably looks yellowish it doesn't matter which yellow goes to which the white wire is the female connector pictured,

Cheers

The inner coil has a green wire(earth) a white wire(from the regulator)
The outer coil has 3 x Yellow wires (to the rectifier--conect anyway round)

It is not uncommon to find the connector block like that, it happens when a small amount of corrosion causes a high resistance contact which makes heat.

thats why we used to pull apart and clean the contactcs if we took the cover off

Hi Billy my wire harness wasnt the best so i bought a new one from DS, you probably could repair your old one no problem maybe cut the wires back a bit to get good wire then crimp and solder new connectors on,

Only problem with solder is if you want the engine out you have to leave the genny with the frame

Look at:-

They won't mate with the original Honda ones but if you are rep[lacing both parts that is no problem
