Hello,
does anyone know if there is an Electronic Ignition kit available for a road going CB175?

Regards,

Doesn't the CB have two sets of points? Don't think there is an electronic kit but Hondaman on the US site does a kit for the fours that reduces the voltage and current at the points so they don't spark and wear out so the spark stays better for a long time. If I am right about the twin contacts it should work on the 175

CB175 had 360° crank (both pistons go up and down together) so used wasted spark - just like the fours.

That's why they sound so good compared to the CB250/350/360 which had 180° crank and uneven firing sequence.

You can use a Sparkrite TT electronic ignition on the CB175, it retains the points, but using a much lower voltage across them, resulting in much longer life for the points and less frequent adjustment. Found just what you need on e-bay, item number  151154496435   he's got 2 of them, apparently new and unused, probably worth a punt if you want to go down that route ;D
If it's got tits or wheels, it's hassle, if it's got both, RUN!!!

Is the Hondaman box the same idea as the Sparkrite?
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Set/sit. Bought/brought FFS. Bloody Americans.

Cheers....

Got both of them for £10.50  ;D Fitted one today and there is a vast improvement.

Should I do away with the condensor all together?
