You should of kept the CD250u, I gave mine to a mate this summer and it's still going strong in Greece. The challange was not just the ride. My mate bought the bike for his missus in 1988, she got pregnant and never touched it, i kept asking him how much he wanted for it, but always got the same answer, "It owes me too much". In 2003 i did some work on his drag bike, getting it ready for Santa Pod. He didn't like my bill so gave me the CD250U. It had stood for so long that the center stand was solid. Two new tyres, a oil change and 3 cans of WD40,and it was back to life again. 2300 miles in three days later the old CD250 was used to get me to the beach and back.

That is a beautiful bike mate. I was looking for one to use as a winter bike, but ended up with a GSX-R 400 gk71b. The CD250u in good condition can fetch good money these days. There is still a lot about. The system says there are 78 on Sorn, so still loads tucked away in garages and sheds somewhere.

I couldn't believe what I got for it people were emailing me accusing me of price fixing
GSX-R 400 seems like a strange choice for a winter hack
I can't believe that many have survived I raced many Dispatch riders on CD's at the traffic light GP

Just had another look at howmanyleft who recon there is also 149 licensed and 134 sorn of model CD250u-k. Not sure about this sites information because it records  show under CB550F1, 1 licensed & 3 on sorn. That can't be right.
