CB400F handlebars
« on: December 26, 2013, 09:27:54 AM »
Morn all.... & a very Happy Xmas.

A few days ago took the non-standard bars off my '750K2 & replaced with OEM style. Much better... Now the brake m/c boot clears the rev counter housing..

Anyways, these bars are the same profile as I've got on the 400F, except the 3" section between the mounting points are a thicker diameter - ie the bars are stepped here. Haven't stuck a vernier across them but would guess an increase of about 2mm.

My 400F bars are unlike this... ie are a constant diameter over their length. Anyone able to say which type are OEM?

Cheers,
Simon.

Hi Simon

Happy Christmas to you too. My 400F bars are OEM and are a constant diameter throughout. Under the clamps there is a knurled section though.

Cheers
Tom

I have a thicker section on my 500 bars, pretty sure they are original, but my previous one had the plain ones so maybe they used both?
Love the 500 and 550 have a 500 called Lazarus under restoration

Thanks guys... Seems like they may not be 400F bars - phew! Tom's original bars appear to be the same as mine & so I'm saved the god-awful job of swapping the 400's bar & pulling looms ... before selling the spare set .
