Mihai ( or Michael) from Romania...in Europe
« on: January 10, 2014, 11:18:35 PM »
Greetings,
My name is Mihai ( or Michael, Mike, in english ou Michel en francais). I am from Romania and i`m really bad with english.
i live in Bucharest, the capital of Romania (not Budapest, that is for Hungary), and i`m in negotiations for an old CB550k 4 (1978) for the price of 2.000 euro (or abou 2.700 US dollars).
I wil get it in the spring time (hope). it has 35.000 miles (is the american version, was imported from US in 1981) and is in  a very good original condition.
I think is the only CB550K registred in Romania :))

Anyway...glad to find this forum and glad to find you all!

If you are traveling to Romania just give me a sign...mi casa e su casa!

I am back! just bought the Cb550k.

Some pics:) and a video

Hi Mike and welcome. Your English is perfectly fine mate.
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Set/sit. Bought/brought FFS. Bloody Americans.

Yes this is the one. i only got 2 photos but i will get more after i buy it.
The bike is owned by a 67 years guy who all his life was a bike enthusiast but he never got a japanesse bike, only MZ, IJ, URAL, and other like those.
He said that is he`s last bike...and is very fond of it, but considering the age he need to sell it to a person who really wants to take care of her ( the bike:))
The price is a little high but he is selling it with the same money that he bought it.

Looks nice Mihai. Never seen one with reflectors on the fork cases before.
What is the box next to the horn?

Some of the reflectors are from the previous owner...the strips from the fork and from the bottom of the fork. Also the rear round stop reflector...

The previous owner is a..., i dont now how to translate ”inginer electronist” (something like electric engineer).
He made 2 electonic ignition (hand made)...one is the main ignition, and one is a backup :))
He also keept the points plate. So..when you want to use the eletronic ignition just turn on a switch, when you want to use the points turn of the switch.
Also..if the main ignition fails and also the point fails, you could plug on the backup ignition..pretty cool, no?

Backup electronic ignition AND a points plate.

That's more backups than Apollo 13!

He cetainly never wanted to be stranded.

Can not see how you could have a points system and a electric ignition in the same case. Thinking about it, i have seen some strange things in Eastern Europe.
