always wanted one 400 four
« on: January 12, 2014, 01:01:08 PM »
Hello to you all, I have always wanted a 400 four since i had a go on one in 1978 but was into 2strokes and never got round to getting one,so last month i got one on a whim.
Probably not my best idea as i got a non runner and far from standard.I am in at the deep end as i usually play with 2strokes and modern bikes.
i have a lot of issues with my 400 as its an italian import with no documents.i have been reading in depth all sorts of info but still not sure which way to go with it.
I have contacted silvers and the bike is a early 75 but engine and frame no don't match. Can i contact anyone to sort out a registration or is it to much of a chore?.
I have a uk frame and matching engine and v5 which i was going to change everything onto but engine is seized from being stood this also is a 75/76.
Anyone local to me who may be able to  help please? :)

Welcome Tony.

Looking at your signature bike list; I've no idea what a Daliem is, but the others are all on my top ten list of bikes!

google it and see what you think they have a race series in korea for them.
variety is the spice of life so like to have a change around in the garage now and again.

Goldwing m/cyl is great for twin disc conversions, but are a waste on a single disc. If it's for your 400/4 Dave Silver has excellent replicas at £29.00 plus V.A.T and post, almost as cheap as a seal kit for the original! Welcome by the way! ;D
If it's got tits or wheels, it's hassle, if it's got both, RUN!!!

You will have to change the complete front end to get twin discs as there is no mounting on the other fork slider----OR have one caliper in front and one behind, yes it works i did it on a 500!!

As to registration, if you want to know the cheats method PM me and i will send you my phone number to talk about it!
