Can not seen to find if this is true or not. Did Honda do a black CB550?. And if they did was it a F1 or F2?

I had / have a black cb550k3, still had the dealer sticker on the sidepannels and decals on the tank rather than badges. Paint was at the very least very old even 15 years ago so if it must have been a not that old bike to have a respray when done. Log book agreed with the coulor - I've found dvla relucctant to alter this on log books when swapping bodywork over.
Got a 500/4 with rust and a sidecar and loadsa bits. nice and original and been round the clock

I've seen this picture often but never read or heard about any black F's.

'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Set/sit. Bought/brought FFS. Bloody Americans.

I have found a old sticker on the bike that states,"Code Excel Black NH-57". But i think Excel Black is a frame color.

Hi, I have one CB550 k3 EXCEL BLACK, and it is not the code of the frame, it is the side panels and tank code, you can read it in the CB550 K3 part list. There is two colours for 550 K3 "black" and "marron".

Cheers Piki, what i am trying to find out is if there is a Black colour code for the CB550F. As Lester has shown in the above picture and a friend has one. Is Black an original colour for a CB550F?. Its maybe like the Honda CD250U which came in silver, but only in Singapore.

Hi Piki, I have read the parts list and it does mention Black, but doesn't say what the black is for on the 550F. It could mean the black for the clock surrounds ect, ect.

No need to apologise Oddjob. I was on about the CB550F  1&2 in the first instance. I will have to write to Honda Japan to clear this question up and ask them to advise on a colour code.
The web was set up for a world of information, but i have sill found that letter writing still gets better results.

-Shiny Orange(1976)
-Candy Sword Blue(1977)
-Candy Presto Red(1977)

Not black!! I think that is a "fake pic"

Stop thinking European and American, Lester & Piki. It is a world wide market. As i said before i had a CD250U in silver. Contacted Honda in Power Rd, who stated that Honda never produced one in silver. A letter to Honda, Japan confirmed that a Silver model was produced for Singapore.
Steve has the right thinking on this.

I'm not thinking about any particular market, I'm just going by the amount of internet searching I've done over the past ten years or so. Plus forum reading etc. I searched a lot when I couldn't find the correct colour for my panels, took me about two years. I never heard mention of a black F.
