You taking the piss simon? :-). Looking for the correct honda setting ring / mount and a genuine lens / lamp if possible.

Sorry mate I completely got the wrong end of the stick there - thought you were calling me lazy ha ha. Thanks for the link - have had a good search on ebay but not yet seen anything suitable. Thanks again, James.

Did indeed spot a couple of reasonably priced Stanley units (no ring) in the 'States... but jeese, the postage! And then the bloody tax...

Good luck anyways,
Simon

Is the headlamp the same as the 500/550 as I might have one, not sure of condition though. Does it have a sidelight holder in the reflector as US bikes usually don't. Also Silvers have repro items which I found good quality.
Love the 500 and 550 have a 500 called Lazarus under restoration

Be careful buying headlight units from abroad, don't forget they drive on the wrong side of the road, so the headlight dips to the RIGHT instead of the left as UK vehicles do, and will FAIL the M.O.T, so check which market it is for before wasting your hard earned cash!:))

Yes.
Most views are correct the only difference instaed off the adjusting screw being on the left, right is the same if you are lucky enough to get either, all you have do to do is drill a hole the opposite side for you no big deal.Original stuff as we all know has worst odds than the lotto,so get with it grab it b4 you lose out if you want original

Thanks Bitsa - pulled the trigger on it and like you say I should be able to modify the adjuster mechanism if necessary. Thanks for the steer oddjob. James

I'm sure you'll find it's more than just the adjusting screw, the fluting on the glass is what determines which way the lamp dips, the only way round it is to stick black tape over certain areas of the lens (ask Steve D, he has to do it with his!) and if an original look is what you want, black tape will just not look right!:-\
