All balls head bearings
« on: March 16, 2014, 09:36:15 PM »
Has anyone fitted these tapered head bearings to their 400/4.
I was wondering whether to use the packing washer for the base bearing?
I was worried that the yokes might miss the turn stopper on the frame.
The yokes are in the freezer at the moment to contract them,so when i fit the base bearing you only get one go at it.

I had mine in and out 3 times before I got it right. My bearings came with 2 different sized spacers.
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Set/sit. Bought/brought FFS. Bloody Americans.

Hi,
Single spacer at the bottom under the bearing journal, it stops the bottom yoke fouling the steering lock/headstock---ken
