I guess the priciple is there in other fields of fuel systems, old lawn mowers and diesel building plant often had a clear filter bowl in th efuel supply line to establish easily if fuel was available and to check if any water was in there. Plastic bowls on compressed air filters are another example, so the material of some sort of resistance should be around somewhere.

3D printing springs to mind.......

Hi , I Drag/Sprinted both 750 and 970 engined sohc Hondas fitted with those clear float bowls back in the late seventies early eighties . I remember that they went slightly yellowish ,but they stood up well considering the number of times they were taken on and off for jet changes etc . They eventually got sold mounted on a set of overbored stock carbs , which I wish I'd never sold  ::).
