cb 750 wire harness
« on: April 10, 2014, 07:13:02 PM »
Hi there.
I am going to rewire (or attempt to) my k4 when i finally start to rebuild. I have looked up the code 32100-341-703 but thought i'd ask is this ok for the uk. I have been advised by a fellow restorer that it might have the indicators on as running lights as its a u.s. bike. Can anyone tell me if this is the case originally? Here's the link

It is possible, but, the running light indicators have twin filaments, so easy to omit the running lights by using UK single filament indicators.
Of more concern would be if the headlight it permanently on, some significant differences exist then.

thanks for the reply but not sure what you mean. my speed triple has headlight on all the time so not a problem in uk. what problems could that cause?

Hi Antony, I think Pete was trying to say that UK bikes were wired so you could switch the lights on and off and the US bikes had no choice the lights were on all the time  ;) cheers Mick.

Anthony, in terms of doing a straight swap then the harness you're looking at is a good part - i had to replace the full harness on one of my k4's last year and used one of these reproduction parts from the us. So long as you're methodical and take your time it's a plug and play job. Just take several photos now of the existing harness install / routing. Also, you may end up with a pair of spare female connectors in the headlight (from memory). I had to make up a jump lead to connect these two spares (have a search on the us forum for a thread started by HondaMan - he talks through it in great detail). Good luck...

The variations UK to US are in the switches not the loom

Hi Anthony,

As previous post if you take your time with the loom (and check the circuit diagram) you should be ok. There are minor differences in the circuitry with the American K3,K4,K5, front indicators with 2 elements/5 wire starter-safety switch/sealed main headlight-which is switchable, and others.
You can PM me for further information.

thanks for the help. i will reply to this nearer the time if i get in trouble. As you say  a lot is plug and play but the headlight is a nightmare. i took pictures on dismantle but it was a waste of time in the headlight - spaghetti junction. All i was worried about was it would be ok for uk standards and that seems to be the case. I will worry about doing it at the time but you all will help i am sure. I also found a great site here

Also does anyone recognise what im holding in the picture. It doesnt seem to be on the diagram !!

Part in your hand looks like an aftermarket turn signal relay - not sure the red wire should be attached. From memory should be black and grey wires going to it..

+1 on that James I have a flasher relay that looks the same. It was fitted to my K0 750 when I first bought it.
