massive oil leak!!!
« on: June 05, 2005, 06:25:27 PM »
i have a `79 cb750 rebuilt with the big bore kit...

on the center of the jugs, where i assume the timing chain is... there are 2 slits on either side, on the right side theyve pierced through and leak oil really bad...

i've put high temp rtv over them for now... should i get new jugs, or a new engine?

Hi sorry I had to shrink the images(admin)
What size is she bored out to, I thought you could go upto about 910cc without too many problems. see the satanicmechanic.

It looks like you have a hole into the camchain tunnel, never seen that before.

You could either get new barrels rebored or try to get the hole welded up. Either way keep us posted

i believe its 845, but don't quote me...

the reccomendations i've heard so far is, jb weld, get it welded that sort of thing. the high temp rtv seems to be holding tho...

hehehe sorry the images were so big, i was in a hurry...

I 've had a look at a set of jugs and there is no way an 845cc big bore kit would do this..., (well I clearly wrong 'cos yours is :P )

Have you seen the article that admin posted about ally welding without gas. I reckon this would sort you out.
See  http://www.honda-sohc.co.uk/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=23&mode=thread&order=0&thold=0

I don't know if you are a UK member or not but if you quote "honda-sohc" you get 20 rods for the price of ten.
