ok, so i fucked up on the cafe
« on: July 23, 2014, 08:42:05 PM »
so, its hard to sort out the wheat from the chaff.  The merchants of doom have been proved right in opinions that riasing the rear end by 46mm would give me the front end wobbly at high speeds. Anyone know anyone who could engineer me a new front yoke set ..... reduced offset to 35mm and extended steering stop, but otherwise same as 500 one including top yoke steering stem  hole being higher by standard amount than the fork tube holes. Been saving for a bit.................

Ewan, it would be much easier to just get some new rear shocks. I have looked at the maths on this and had a few off line chats with Norniron. You have the rear end too high.

aye you could be right trig, but felt I needed the rear end clearance cue to electrics tray, current shocks give 3 inch clearance betwee tyre and electric tray ... about same as original

Ewan, 3 inch's? Are you on about 3 inch between the tyre and the frame? Because you must take on board that you have got rid of the inner mudguard, which is 3 inch's in. I am not sure how Norniron has got away with this loss of clearance but, he did something right.

Standard set up has about 3 inch clearance between tyre and inner face of rear mudguard, so I reckoned i Needed 3 inch between tyre and bottom of electric tray that is welded on bottom of frame where the seat sits ..... no mudguard fitted
