Just fitted a new primary chain (and rubbers) on my 400/4 engine. Problem is that primary shaft doesn't line up with starter gear.
The gear has to move about 1/8th. of an inch to rear of engine. Is this normal with new chain? Can the gear be 'levered' back a bit?
Thought I'd ask the experts on here first. I have the engine upside down,resting on cyl.studs.
