Rear Paddock Stand Rubber Pads (glue question)

My Tiger 800 doesn't have a centre stand so I bought this paddock stand during the summer.

I changed the rear brake pads today and the brake cleaner seems to have disolved the glue that holds the rubber pads onto the frame.

Those of you "in the business", what glue should I use to fix them back on (rubber/steel)

Remove old adhesive/bonding agent and degrease. Coat both surfaces  with decent contact quality  adhesive like Evo-stick. Let it almost dry on both surfaces and then hold both glued surfaces in front of an infra-red lamp for a few seconds and then clamp together. Prof. W. Wake of RAPRA  in Shropshire told me that one. Yonks ago, as he drove an Allegro Vandenplas (walnut pick-nick tables in the back! The yukky mustard coloured one)    He reckoned the secret was the irradiation of the surface with infra-red. His words to me in a meeting with ladies present was 'Do it that way my boy and it'll stick like sh*t to the proverbial'

Oh and just remembered he told me to clean the rubber surface with a mixture of Teepol and Trisodium-Orthophosphate. but I would just solvent de-grease it with a quick wipe and let it dry thoroughly.

I knew there'd be an expert out there somewhere.
For us "domestic" types, what would we use in place of an infra red lamp? Surely it's just heat?

I'm off to the local university library to get those books.

Radiant heat from the bar of an electric fire, health lamp, radiant ring on an electric cooker.
Probably use brake cleaner.

Evo stick inpact adhesive is good stuff. Also handy for helping a seat cover stick to the base and other jobs where rubber meets metal, like hand grips, footpegs etc. Brake cleaner does fine to get the metal and rubber nice and clean.

Not really a fan of them paddock stands Steve its only a matter of time before you scratch the swing arm you want to replace those cups with hooks&bobbins.

I have a similar paddock stand, my rebel exhust getting in the way is partly to blame but the damn thing has resulted in the bike dropping off the stand a few times giving rise to some ripe language. I now use a chain hoist and a length of baler twine to hang the bike from the ceiling of the workshop, works far better, you can really hammer at stuck bits or whatever with no worry of it falling over, only works if you have a workshop and suitable roof, and of course no landrovers or dumpers having an engine change and occupying the space.
