Help Needed,
« on: October 30, 2014, 07:03:22 PM »
i Started to sandblast my sandcast frame today i was real happy until i found a rough spot on the top tube where the seat goes, further investigation reveals the F--king seat hinge mount has been ground off, does anyone have an old rusty frame with this mount on, or are there any fabricators out there that can make me one

Hi Pete that's a bummer, Has Will (freddythefatfrog) not got any old frames he could cut that part of the frame section out for you ?,

failing that would a k series hinge do ? cheers Mick.

Hi Pete
Can't promise anything but i love to take on any challenge and don't usually get beaten.
After Bitsa volunteering me yesterday ;D I drew up a couple of sketches of press tools i will need to make, from the photos
of the K0 i have coming. Be patient if you can but you might need to get some primer on the frame.
Talking maybe 4-5 weeks from when i get mine for dimensions.
If you need any indicator rubbers i have just made the first batch, i know it's a way off but we have to start collecting.
watch this space for short K0 chain guard.

Rich you sound like a very talented man, what are the indicator rubbers you mention
I have taken a look at my k0 frame and the brackets are quite basic the challenge is getting them like original
are you thinking of making a plastic chain guard, if so you  really have all my respect , i just admire other peoples talents

Hi Pete
Too much c**p out there supposed replicas but never totally correct,
if you can't tell the difference between genuine and copy i'm happy.
Rubber mounting pads under rear indicator bracket.

I'm up for a meetup as well guys. Hoping to have the blue k0 registered and on the road by Christmas. Reatoration of the other K0 has just started so will start a thread shortly when I've had a chance to get some decent pics together. Crazy busy with the day job and kids who think they can fly at the moment.....

James you and ash are top blokes who i would really like to meet up with as well, i will really try and make an effort to get out and about and put faces to names, i just love our little community, funny thing is we all pm each other as well as forum chat, some of you guys have really helped me out as i have been going through a rough patch lately

Rich, i have been up to see mike a couple of times and often talk to him via email your right he's another of the good guys who has helped me out a few times, i was supposed to go down his way earlier this year for a visit , but i have been real busy with some other non bike projects which are taking all my time up,
simon the guy with the sandcast is in Dover  i think, i was just talking to him by email a minute a go , telling him who i go to for spare parts and asking about his sandcast etc
