Just got a set of warning decals for the K2 to fit while waiting for exhaust to arrive.  Can anyone give me any advise on the correct position for all the decals please

Phil,

Grab yourself a cold beer & have a long / slow trawl through the various photos in this link.  If you look carefully you'll find most of the decal placements... you will, for sure, need a beady eye.

Good luck,

Simon

Engine oil = R/H side panel
Helmet holders = under the helmet hooks
Battery caution = I have seen this in two places 1) L/H frame between the helmet hocks and 2) on the inner plastic mudguard.
Preserve Nature = On the fuel tank
Important Information = On the rear mudguard
Honda Motor CO LTD = R/H Head stock
This exhaust system = I have seen this in two places 1) R/H swinging arm and 2) on the chain guard

Hope this helps.

Thanks Trigger - have spent the night 'googling' and only one I couldn't find was chain guard decal, so that's really helped

Back in '72 did they actually have the 'Preserve Nature' & "Don't modify the exhaust" decals??
Thought these came a few years down the track on later models?

Don't forget in the U.K. we were stuck with the K2 until the K6 came here in late 75/early 76, so it depends when it was made!:))
If it's got tits or wheels, it's hassle, if it's got both, RUN!!!

I thought all UK Honda's had REMEMBER Preserve Nature always wear a helmet on the tank. Have a couple 750K2's, one 1972 and a 1973 with unmolested tanks. Both have the REMEMBER Preserve Nature always wear a helmet on the tank.

Up-date: You had me worried then Simon so went to check. 69,70,71,72 UK have 8 in total.

Hmm, can't quite believe EVERY Honda m/c that ever came into the UK had said decals Trig; they must have had some introduction date?

Just looked up helmet laws - 01 June 1973.

Which agreed, is not to say that a '72 K2 wouldn't have had one. But,if you've a couple of original tanks with 'em on then I guess the question has been answered!

Just dusted off my old microfiche for a UK CB750K1 and the REMEMBER Preserve Nature always wear a helmet on the tank is part number 87560-323-670A (white) and 87560-323-670ZA (black).

My CB500K0 has the tank decal but, put the microfiche in for the CB750K0 UK. It shows the tank decal but, no part number.
Most of the american tanks have it on and in most states a helmet was not required.

Found this to be a interesting question Simon. "When did the tank decal come in". I have done a few Black Bombers in my time so, started go though some old pictures and information on them.
The CB450 KO, K1, and K2 did not have tank decals. That takes us upto 1969. The CB450 K3 which is late 1969 - 1970 had a tank decal on it. This points to Honda started putting them on in late 1969.

Just for the record my '76 F1 has an unmolested ( well I may have molested the inside a bit  ;) ) tank still with original 'Preserve nature' sticker on the fuel flap so definitely around then.
