Rummaging around in the garage pretending to look for the tree (shh its in the loft ) I just found a satin heat shield for a pre k1 750.  
Handy if someone wants to match the finish

That will buff out.

Nope, the strange thing with those heat shield's were that they were satin chrome i was informed. Have seen them in aluminum, which is easier to get the finish.
