The importance of oil circulation?
« on: January 08, 2015, 09:42:24 PM »
I've been cleaning the garage?
Took 12 hours to sort it all out?
Any way found these from my 450
This is what happens when someone (not me) thinks the bike looks better with no tacho drive take of so they put a lhs cam journal on the rhs so it looked real tidy......they forgot to make an oil way though???
The results are as follows

It was making a screaming noise?
But surprisingly still ran?

Just thought I would share it funnily enough it still makes me smile....I guess that why I've still got it all....???

I love the 450's but, some people have not got a clue when it comes to engines. That can be repaired.

I here were you are coming from Tom. This has been a main topic on the twin forum for many years. The racing boys put roller bearings on the end of the cams and they do rev up a lot quicker.

Out of curiosity, I'd like to blank off the mechanical tacho drive on my 550 and have ordered a blanking plug.  Do I need to be concerned about this too, or are the 550's different?

Blanking the tacho,off is fine
On this the guy changed the whole cam journal so it looked good...and put the wrong side on? thus fxxxxxg the whole thing up...

Thanks for the news Woodside, I'm doing my best to make sensible decisions when building my bike but it's the stuff like this that worries me - hope I won't get blindsided by something important!

Brown or orange with brown seat on both. My last one was stripped and sprayed in diamond black and a black seat cover, Nice.
