Not that I'm a worrier or anything like that but I do hope our friends in Scotland are OK. Would hate to see any of their lovely bikes damaged in the terrible weather going on up there, or any of them or their families being injured.
Hope your all OK chaps

Thanks for your concern Julie,
Here in Orkney we had 107mph winds recorded at Kirkwall Airport.  Most folk are quite used to it but it's still a bit scary.  A few power outages, but no real damage reported so far.  Wind has eased but coming back during the night, but only up to a breezy 80mph.  Others in Scotland haven't faired quite so well and are still without power.

'The reason I was doing 107 officer, was to keep out of the wind'

I'm pleased all is OK with you. Slight breeze for us on the South Coast at Dungeness tonight, gusts just over 60. Like you, I find it a bit scary living in such an exposed area when the wind gets up, the most I have had whilst living here is 93mph and that was real scary. Hope the night brings no dramas for any of us. Definitely not bike riding weather, unless you have to !!!!

Saw the report on the tornado destroying a garage in Harrow too - which is a bit close to home. Luckily for them they only had cardboard boxes in the garage (holding up the walls, apparently). If it had been my garage I would have been pretty miffed.....as the whole bike collection would have gone, and no doubt the roof would have ended up on my car too!.

Shetland still seems to be mostly in one piece  -  some relatively minor damage to the odd truck, a gritter went off the road the other day (no-one badly hurt), a couple of roofs gone missing, and small boats damaged.

Thanks for asking  :)
Cheers, StClair.
