Trig - update on jetting.  New mains are 110's and pilots 40 (the ones I got from DS).  Put clip on centre notch and will try that and go from there. Have dug old jets out and they where 100's.
Carbs all back together and set up on bench as per manual. Will put them on and let you know how it runs.
Phil
PS - did I see a SOHC member post a thread recently that they are doing a full range of jets. Can't find thread now. Or has DS got genuine items at reasonable prices?

The manual is based on a standard carb set up. Because you have increased your engine output, now you have to increase your fuel and air input. To be honest i am not even sure a standard air box will work.

Looked in some old note books Phil and found that i have used a STD air box but, with a foam filter and the jet at 120. Most of the time i have fitted this bigbore kit to engines that were going into cafe racers, with a gasflow on the head, pods fitted and non-standard exhausts.

Just started it again and now needs choke and responds ok. I will strobe it and balance carbs before MOTing  and road testing it (will wait till weather is better) - I'll get 120's sorted - any recommended sources for jets and your recommended foam filter. Hopefully will be sorted - feel that on std compression, I should be able to set up eventually.

Don't go too much into it Phil. It will have to be a try and test mate, after you have it strobed and balanced up. I think this is the page you were looking for >http://www.sohc.co.uk/index.php/topic,7698.0.html

Just spotted this - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/191425255660?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT - what do you think?

It is down as a stock filter. You can make one from a old paper filter.

already found some foam on ebay - thinking the same. Thanks for all your input Graham, will leave it all until on the road and tinker then starting around your recommendations.
Thanks again

Yep - running a treat! Have done about 30 miles and is smooth and quiet although only revving to about 4000 so far do to running in engine. I think it feels a bit restricted due to the standard airbox/filter but plan to make more free flowing foam filter (around existing air filter body) - as per Triggers suggestion. Only issue is what I consider are wildly inaccuarate repo tacho/speedo - only put them on until I recon standard gauges. Otherwise, no issues at all - shouldn't be really as most things are new!
