Gear change lever - rubber covers
« on: January 12, 2015, 10:16:02 AM »
Hi Chaps.
Does anyone know if there are seperate part numbers for the rubber covers covering the knuckles on the gear change lever? Mine have perished but can't seem to find part numbers.
Ta in advance
Julie

Hi Julie,

Nip down the bank, organise a small mortgage (for £26) & go here...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Honda-CB400F-400-Four-400-4-gear-lever-linkage-dust-boot-new-oem-/291264361816?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item43d0b57558
(If the link's not working its 'Bertrums Bike Bits)

Otherwise try Steve Cooper I guess .... he'll likely have some second hand.

Good luck!

Just seen that's for a pair, still not paying that though. But it would suggest there is a part number possibly

Hi,
Be careful on some after market "rubber" items, I reverted to an original battery strap when an after market one rotted in four months without leaving the garage!----Ken
nice bike,nothing in the bank

I would prefer genuine if I could find them at a sensible price. I think I will look at other bike's gear change levers and see if I can find anything similar, I don't need them urgently

You will have to match them to a modern bike. Pop along to one of those smart show rooms and match it to one of the bikes on display.

Was lucky enough to get a NOS lever from Guvnors Bridge Motorcycles at the time for £30... Bargain

Iv'e emailed that Bertrum guy before about extortionate prices (he's near me). He has a habit of not having the part in stock so he puts a silly price on it so that nobody will bid (well that was his excuse last time). Follow that logic if you can.

I would just wait for DS to get them in stock. Their price seems reasonable and they are Genuine Honda parts.
