As you well know James, anything from sandcast to K6 is selling at the right price and, that price is going up

This bike is not to std spec. Bloody alan screws in the engine and most of the other bolts are wrong.

The Allen screws are so bloody disappointing given the effort & expense otherwise done. Makes you kinda wonder.  I'm no K1 eert, but is the rear lamp holder meant to be black (UK) or indeed chrome?

I understand that that  bike was painted by Andrew Parnaby, who did my paintwork. The guy who was supposed to paint it couldn't finish  it at the 11th hour so Andrew finished  it off  instead but he never got a mention in the magazine. Evidently that Candy Gold is one of the most difficult colours to get right. Andrew was painting one the same colur  for John Wyatt last time I visited him.

It's a USA import (not even a Genuine UK bike) so I would think it would have a chromed rear lamp bracket.

Simon the rear light bracket is correct for a USA unit.

We did get quite a few K1's here Simon in late 70/71. The magazine article hints that it's an import. Hard to read on the eBay listing though. That mag went downhill when Rod Gibson sadly passed away.
