Had a mate at work do some photoshop work so I could visualise how things would look with the colours and bronze plating I've been thinking about.  This is what he sent back, and I think it looks pretty good!  The bronze mesh under the seat to hide the battery and airbox will have a smaller grid and so look a little more subtle, and my bike will be running the stock airbox, not pods, and will have rearsets, not standard pegs, but in terms of lines, exhaust and colours, you get the idea.  Still so far off, but it's nice to have a vision of the future.   :)

Yeah, the plan is to have total seat depth of 2 inches, which then should fill that void at the back of the tank and keep things looking nice and lined up - no use having a nice bike and an ass too numb to ride it!  :o

My only worry would be all the road crap on the back of your jacket :)
I like idea of brass, colors look very nice.

When do you think you will get bike on the road?

As far as my monthly budget goes, I'm guessing next May.  I've got a long way to go, and not much money to do it with, and I want to do things right the first time.  As it stands, I should have the engine totally buttoned up with a new top end by next week, my fork tubes back from hard chroming by March, and wheels built and shod by end of April.  My exhaust builders have requested a rolling chassis by end of May so they can check all clearances and weld any mounting brackets to the frame.  The same guys will also be fabbing the custom brass mesh side covers for me.  Then it's powdercoat for the frame, wiring, paint, gauges, lighting... and a huge haemorrhage of money to the finish line.   :-\

I really like the styling Mr T and the mudguard/ light arrangements. I started mine proper last March and is now finished except for the seat upholstery. Pics to follow very soon.

Thanks!  I'm converting all the lighting to LED to reduce the load on the electrics, and have found both tail lights and a 7" headlight with integrated indicators, so should tidy up the lines a bit.  I'm hoping the length of my seat and the addition of the numberplate as a pseudo-mudguard will work well enough for the rear - if I get a little crud on my jacket, I'll consider it worth it for the look.   :)  The front on the other hand, I'm pretty keen not to get rocks in the face, so I'm hoping the length I've removed from the mudguard will still mean it is quite functional, just a bit updated on the styling.

The bronze is a great idea, what about doing the rims the same finish with stainless spokes. That seat might put the old cobblers in a bit of danger though. ;D

Might be a thought... I don't want it too glitzy though, just a bit here and there.  I was thinking of using unchromed brass spoke nipples to accent the wheels.

Have to agree with the comment about bronze rims, I too think it would look good.

Usual finishes seem to be mainly either chrome or black, bronze would be that bit different.
