Iam going down to euro car in a while parts to pick up my 2x 5lt of oil , at a bargin price of 33.98, hope it dont make my clutch slip ::)

OK... this is semi synth... but it would mean I could run the same oil in the 400 and the VFR. What does SF, SG and SJ and such mean and do we still think this oil is OK for the old Hondas?

Well I'm going to order some after the mrs paid £11.99 for a litre of 10w40 semi synth at tesco yesterday for my Honda 90 :'(

I have used Viscol 10w-40 semi synthetic from Home Bargains (£9.95 for 4.5L) in a few of my bikes with no problems. In fact my Honda Deauville was run up to 72k, 35K of that on this oil and it sounded sweet as a nut before I wrote it off! Apparantly this oil is a Rock Oil product and if you do a search you will find a motorcyle version that looks identical to this spec, but a more than double the price for 4L!

Looks like a lot of the oils mentioned are no longer available, so the choice seems to be

Halfords 15W40 Mineral Petrol & Diesel Oil 5L

Triple QX Premium 10w40 Part Semi Synthetic Engine Oil 5L
or
ROCK OILS VISCOL 10W-40 SEMI SYNTHETIC CAR ENGINE OIL

I got 10L of Triple QX Premium 10w40 Part Semi Synthetic Engine Oil. Will try it in 400F and VFR and update when I have....
