Zinc plating kit
« on: February 17, 2015, 10:30:32 PM »
I have gone and got myself one of those kits to play with. It seems to work quite well at turning the likes of these..

into these..

Very easy to use and takes about twenty minutes in the tank to do them.

Nice Result ! Gateros are the best for chemicals etc ...nice family firm and they will sell you half quantities if you ask (ask for Julie).

Pain for a whole bikes worth but it's worth it for rare bits though Pete and very satisfying.

I am just making up one of my plating contraptions and constant current plating circuit for Trigger ... It's my 99p challenge . Will post details on here when I have finished it. Sorry for the delay BTW Graham.

I got this kit off eBay. You get everything in it but it does take a couple of reads of the instructions to set up. That said, once you get into it, it is quite easy.
And you do need to prepare the item before plating as it will show any pits or marks through the plating but for bolts and the like it is fine.

I got mine from here
