Clutch advice
« on: March 12, 2015, 08:15:03 PM »
Hi Guys
Just got my freshly built CB900F Spencer Rep fired up but problem with the clutch. When I engage gear, clutch does not work and it lauches forward. Re-stripped  clutch and checked plates for distortion and all seems straight on flat steel surface. Actuating arm working fine. Put everything back and actuating arm depressing clutch when pulling clutch lever.  All parts assembled as per schematic but still the same.
I'm stumped!
Any suggestions?
Phil

No - I havn't checked that - I have sent for a new set of friction plates as when I re-stripped the clutch the friction material seemed to be degrading and leaving a residue on the steel plates. I'll check the basket tomorrow.
Thanks
Phil
