the tooling cost to double skin a specific 4-1 is likely to be around £30,000divide this by sales of (perhaps) a 100 and the cost of a double skinned system against single skinned (and a bit of discolouration) is increased by £300!

I can't understand why Yamiya never went for double skinned, as they did on the 750 pipes they repro.Bottom line is that (probably) 90% of all potential purchasers although they would like the extra feature, have another use for the £300. Its like when we have an option on a particular model and deciding on making (lets say) a 4-2 system or a 4-1 at lower cost- if asked 90% of customers will prefer the 4-2 if it looks more like original- and 95% will actually buy the 4-1 becuase its much cheaperAsh
