Generic Service History File

Hi Guys
After the rebuild of my K2, I want to record a service history - ie, I'm just doing oil/filter/tappets/etc after first 100 miles and want to keep a record. Before I start messing around on Word designing a page for a folder (which I don't want to do as I prefer tinkering in the garage!), does anyone know of a generic type service record book that I can buy?

That's not a bad idea its all to easy to lose track of what's been done and what hasn't.
I have to look after 6 cars and 6 bikes it gets a bit much at times I changed the oil in my truck twice in one week once I wouldn't mind but it holds almost 7 litres.

Hi Phil,
That sounds v.organised. For my vehicles I simply open up their manuals within my iPad & just long-hand type what I've done - with observations - against miles / dates) on a blank page. (GoodReader App)

Works for me as the two things I want (service requirements / my history) are in the same manual.

For years I've used a simple Excel spreadsheet with columns:
Date, mileage, activity, cost, notes.

It's fascinating going back over the records looking at how much stuff cost in the past...

When I sell a bike, I just print out the relevant bit and keep going with the new bike.

I must be old fashioned  , I have a little red book and write down what I do to my bikes  cheers Mick.

I am old fashioned too and just use a notebook. Its more flexible as some services there is more to write than on others!

I am old fashioned as well,

 if you have a Haynes or Clymer manual,find a blank page inside ,and start writing,

I just note ,month/year+ mileage ,and work done,


easy,and you never have issues with batteries,or hard discs,  -)))))

Just spotte all your posts - that's pretty much what I've done over the years - I have a hand written 3 year service record for a Z1B I ha in 1975 that I'm trying to pass on to the present owner (via Z1 owners club but no response yet)

I think I'll try to knock a page up on Word to write into - when I get time!
