Images in Personal Messages

A couple of times recently I have had to ask members for an email address so I can send pics when replying to a 'Desperately Seeking' post.
Only today I saw a post where someone else wanted an email address to send pics so I am not the only one.
On the New Message page when sending a PM there is an 'Insert Image' option but I have no idea what to do with it (there is no Attach option, not that I have found anyway).
Can someone explain please, or is it perhaps better for any reason to send pics via email anyway? Thanks.

Hi Chris - you can't attach images to PMs. The "Insert Image" button allows a link to an externally hosted image.

Best to swap email addresses and correspond that way.

Thanks Steve. Now I know what the button does.
Looks like sticking with email is the best bet then!
