We have 2 CB 750 F1's as projects to work on.
I am working old school methods so sure more modern methods are available but prefer to do it my own way
My son has a 1977 which is in parts a previous abandoned project bought as spares not been touched for 25 years. The engine was in the frame as a rolling bike ,with a few boxes of parts and accesories.
We started the rebuild and found we need several key parts ignition - battery - etc sourced these and cleaned rebuild carbs rewired bike as an initial try .
We had the engine running fine ,but stacks more to do.
With 1 bike in progress I saw an unmolested F1 on ebay which also had been of road for 25 years. Bought the bike and brought it home plenty to do but an ideal model for the first project.
Within 2 hours of getting bike we had the engine fired up and running smooth.
The second project was now also running as the lead project with the bike being nearly complete
Removed all the broken trims started to address the front brakes.
Bought new master seal kit braided hoses and new pads
Freed piston Rebuild in Progress
Sourced an original exhaust in fair condition - Fitted and looking good - Old one fitted to project 1
The wheels look like what i had originally on my old bike sure they were called Lesters?
either way they needed further attention.
The front wheel has been hand stripped fine polished and repainted in black with polished rims Pics to follow.
The Headgear /Headlamp and all painted fittings were degreased, cleaned polished and referred back to original standard.
New indicators fitted and working fine
Front mudguard cleaned de rusted - treated - polished - few dings but will do for now Refitted and looks fair
Tank de rusted dried out and awaiting tank sealant to be applied better safe than sorry.
I will try to add pic as we progress with both projects.
here are pics from ebay advert
Presently need new l/h switch unit as the horn pass button is missing and has a oversize screw fitted unless anyone has an old one I could use for parts
