Hi speedo trip meter has stoped working has any one taken it apart and what do you look fore when you are in there cheers John

Kent400 is your man on these, I have only done tachos.
There are tips on dismantling on other threads in these forums.

Assume you've checked the drive up to the speedo all ok... they're pretty basic / reliable units and to fail 100% is relatively rare.

I assume form your post that the trip counters are not revolving, they work in tandam with the mileage counter. So if one fails so does the other unless a clip securing the trip counter drum shaft in the frame has broken allowing the shaft to move so it's no longer driven by the gear that drives both. That however should be evident when an attempt to zero the trip is made.
