what do you use on your stainless/ali bolts? i've just finished the last of my wurth AL1100 grease but at £25 a tin i'm looking for a cheaper alternative. i didnt pay for my last lot as i used to be a wurth rep so i had a lot of freebies for my shed over the years!

I'v started using Corrosion Block from ACF50 and it doesn't go hard like coppaslip when in contact with water.

It's not just the threads that seize, it's the area under the screw head where it meets the aluminum casting, so put some copperslip there too.
Where's that 10mm socket got to?

I'm no alchemist... but what Mike says is what I've been told ... ie you need to 'seal the head' & stop moisture / water getting to the threads...

Ask me in 5 yrs.. I've gone the Copperslip route with Oddjob.

The garage that drilled out the seized bolts in my Guzzi used a silicon grease as they have known coppaslip to go hard on the threads making it hard to remove bolts.
