;D ;D ;D ;D Yep, part of my pension anyway. Needs to go soon though as I have just sold my house and will be moving so need to have a bit of a clear out of bikes. The way I'm going it's going to cost more to transport all the bikes than all the rest of the stuff here.

I have just sold my house and will be moving ....
Does this mean you will no longer have a nuclear power station in your back garden or will you be taking it with you?

Im tempted to take it with me Chris.  It's only a myth that it's a Nuclear Power Station, it's actually a re-fuelling station for aliens but the Government tell us 'Marshans' to keep that a secret.😃😃😃😃😃

Splendid bike Julie....good luck with the sale (bike and house). Where are you moving to.....and will you miss the 'glow' of Dungeness? We looked at houses a few years ago around Cooling/ Rochester/ Sittingbourne etc.....good value at the time until I read the BBC Kent website and uncovered page after page of passengers complaints about the rail service into London......there must have been 25 plus pages. Rapid change of plan and we ended up in Worthing.........still a 1 1/2 hour train journey but pretty reliable.

Hmm, what was the old joke, 3 fastest ways to spread info: telephone, telegram, tell a woman  Being serious though, did you get the bike already restored, or did you have it restored? Always a shame to powder coat a frame on a bike of such significance, fine for a daily hack, but kind of loses a lot of appeal to collectors, especially in that sort of price range. That said, if you bought it already done, I can see why it caught your girly eye, loads of shiny bits! Good luck with the sale.

I have mixed feeling on powder coating. I had my 400/4 stove enamelled but my 750K0 powder coated because that's what a UK sandcast guru, who have total respect for, advised me to do. He took 20 years finding mostly NOS parts for one of his sandcasts and all of his bikes are absolutely stunning. So I wouldn't  worry too much about the finish of the frame Julie, it's a stunning restoration you have there and there's no doubt about it that Honda's original frame paint  / finish was crap. Undecided on my 3 twins I am restoring of which finish to go for.
“Alright friends, you have seen the heavy groups, now you will see morning maniac music. Believe me, yeah. It’s a new dawn.” Grace Slick, Woodstock '69 .. In the year of the Sandcast.

there's also powder coating and powder coating!  i had a frame done some time ago and it was quite thick. the guy i use now does a very good finish similar to what a standard one should look like. have a look at someone's work before giving them the job.  and back on track, that is a lovely bike julie, i have to say.

To reply to all questions in one go. I'm moving up country a bit, somewhere, anywhere, between Oxford in the West and Cambridge in the East, not quite sure where I fancy yet. The frame was powder coated in Satin Black and is the closest to the finish of 1971. It is a 'Trigger' restored bike and it is a lovely, lovely restoration.

I looked down on Dungeness Julie and I swear I saw a a streak of burgundy, or was it antares red - yes I think it was, moving so fast I nearly missed it.

SOLD .
The lovely CB500 KO (UK)  sold today to a really nice chap from Cobham, Surrey, for the full asking price of £9250. He turned up on a 1979 Suzuki GS1000 which he has had from new and also has quite a collection of other Classic bikes. He was very knowledgeable about bikes in general, so I feel it's going to a good home. He intends riding the CB500 regularly so keep your eyes open for it. Let's hope it lasts another 40+ years, therefore keeping another one of these lovely SOHC Classic's on the road.
