My other 2 wheel fun
« on: September 13, 2015, 09:20:20 PM »
Just thought I'd share a pic of my main hobby. It's an Italian Polini minimoto with 39cc aircooled 2 stroke engine. Adjustable centrifugal clutch, single speed and 6.5" wheels. The gearing of that track would top it out at around 50mph.

Anybody else do anything for fun?

Landrover with a haybaler? Hobby farming rather than thrills. That and wood turning, and fixing industrial bits of kit like tracked dumpers.
Got a 500/4 with rust and a sidecar and loadsa bits. nice and original and been round the clock

Phil- it is great fun. And if you push to hard and lose the front end your already on the floor so it doesn't hurt which is the best bit. I'll see if I can find a video later.

Matt- Iv never heard of hobby farming? But the tracked dumpers sound like a bit once you've got them back up and running

We have 28 acres and basically it isn't big enough to actually earn real money, but we are rarely short of lamb for the freezer and grow enough apples to brew up a few bottles of scrumpy. Most of it is dedicated to my dads heavy horses to be honest. I like messing with the old agricultural machines, and some of the smaller modern bits. Even my old 4x4 dumper is pretty awesome offroad even if it is slow, climbs silly steep slopes as I found trying to stall it by ramming a 6 foot near vertical bank, scared myself silly as it went streight up and over it.

Just reminded me I haven't ridden my minimoto for years. It's a Banshee Shoo 50cc water cooled, a Chinese copy but with lots of parts replaced carb, reeds, clutch, water pump, ignition, pull start etc.

I moved onto trials with a Beta Evo 250, it's amazing what these bikes can do in the right hands.

lol I bet you crapped yourself. I had a lad in the workshop try to stall a diesel that ran up on its own oil and nearly put it through the wall.

I had a Banshee for a short while, one of the best Chinese reps out there. If you've got MotorsTv the championship is now televised.

Never understood the need to jump out of a perfectly good aeroplane lol.

Done the skydiving, been on a Dakota and had a flying lesson.  Still never been in one of those new fangled jets.
Been brewing beer since 1983;  no kits or malt extract, just malt, hops water and yeast.
Where's that 10mm socket got to?

I'll keep an eye out on motors tv, it's not in this weeks listings.
I also brew, no kits but wine rather than beer.

Got really mixed feelings about jumping out of a plane.

I used to go to Swansea years ago before I had a serious ladder related accident.   My Mrs won't even let me go on the roof of the house anymore
