Rudge not a Honda
« on: September 16, 2015, 09:43:12 PM »
Heres one of my bikes that I restored a few years ago. 1939 Rudge Special 500cc
Ok its not an age related colour that's for sure but I like it and was badgered into painting it this colour.
The bike was a back to bare metal strip down, and complete overhaul except the engine which had been rebuilt a couple of years prior to me getting it.
It runs a treat, will kick you back like stallion on steroids.
A heavy well designed bike that rides really nice.
Hope you like

Regards Keith

Well that's a change from Black.
Looks really nice, do you take it out?
Where are you in Kent? (roughly)

I'm in west malling area, Kent although some bikes are at work as I have my car in the garage and badly in need of space
The bike was originally black, and I was going to keep that but the painter I used suggested it and for some reason I just rolled with it.
Yes I have ridden it and it rides nice although I have a leak on the carb at present and not got round to doing it..... Just another job to do.
I restored it a few years ago and the garage has changed since, that water pipe was compressed air pipe and now gone.

Replica.
I built it about 2-3 years ago
This is the second gt40 I have built and about 6 cars in all.
My first gt40 I sold is now in Spain at the Ascari race circuit and regularly thrashed
I won't build any more as I have a back problem from time to time so there a bit heavy duty, that's why the bikes are there, lighter and far cheaper
I still have my 640 HP Ultima gtr race car but it's undergoing modification when time allows me.

The Vincent dealer and workshops.
Used to belong to Don Godden the Off road racer and now owned by Gary since Don
went to the great workshop in the sky.

They have been around a long time.
I'm a patternmaker (Dial Patterns Ltd)
and have made a fair bit of Vincent stuff.
Last job they did for me was to machine a batch of Velocette Thruxton heads for me.
