Where do these pipes go
« on: September 26, 2015, 02:19:48 PM »
Could somebody give me a pointer as to where the three pipes go in the picture.

I assume the single larger pipe is the fuel feed in which case why has the fuel tap got 2 outlets. What are the two small pipes doing, breathers perhaps?
Cheers.

Are they attached to the bottom of the carbs? If so they are the overflows and need to point downwards

The large pipe is your fuel and there should be two small pipes that are vent tubes, that just vent ;)

Both the tap on my bike and on a spare tank I have only have a single outlet, not sure why yours has two.

Smaller pipes appear to be breathers and are routed over the airbox and down behind the engine, exiting where the overflow/drain tubes go.

I sold a set of carbs on eBay recently, don't know if this picture helps.

Thanks guys.So the vents go over the right of the air filter box and down below swing arm height with the 4 bowl drains? Looks like I will have to blank off one of the feeds from the tap. Didn't get chance to see this as it was all apart when I got the bike. Thanks.

Just had a good look at the fuel tap and it is one of these http://www.ebay.com/itm/K-L-Fuel-Valve-Petcock-16950-300-020-Honda-CB500K-CB550K-CB750K-18-4129-/191693311006?fits=Model%3ACB350F&hash=item2ca1cfcc1e&vxp=mtr  . As its nearly new I will keep it. It says on the site to get a splitter to join them together, so I shall do that (or just blank one).

looks like you may have a 400 set of carbs and a 350 fuel tap.

Is there a difference Trig, I thought it was just the jetting. The original picture is a spare set of 350F and they are identical. Am 99% sure there the same but there's always that 1% of doubt.

What is the Carb number ?

just had a good look and you are right, you have a fuel tap off a CB500/CB750K. So its just the wrong tap for a CB350 ;)

Yes it's definitely a 500 tap, but its nearly new and fits okay so I will order a splitter for it. Cheers.

350 fuel taps are hard to come by.
I did find a new one in Italy and yes it was pricey.
The tap on my 400 has one outlet, would that fit?

No, the 400/4 is a screw fitting tap. This ones nearly new so it's fine with a 2 into 1 splitter.
