Preserving Nature?

So how do I 'preserve nature', like my sticker tells me to? Not run over wildlife? Miss the flies? Not go out on the bike? - Wearing a helmet and 'thinking safety' are a bit more obvious.

While we're at it, my CB750 k1's warning sticker is below the filler cap - shouldn't it be above, ie between the filler cap and the forks? - It seems that way in the parts book, but the sticker is missing on most bikes I see on the net. I'm a bit distrustful of the stickers that came on my bike, after noticing yellow 'Helmet Lock' stickers where there aren't any on a K1 - someone obviously felt compelled to use the whole sheet!

Interesting Chris, thanks. I see they think like I do that something got lost in translation.

The Preserve Nature decals were not used on the CB750 K1 until the start of frame number: CB750-1103001.

Mine is a 'General export' bike, starting CB750-1110, so should have the sticker then, I just have to confirm where - not the end of the world if its in the wrong place, anyone who's upset by it is sadder than me, BUT, once I know, it will bug me every time I see it, until I move it, that is....

Haven't seen anything definitive, but on both my bikes the sticker is between the filler cap and the forks.
Can't say I can recall ever having seen one anywhere else, but I'm sure someone will be able to confirm where it should be.

I put mine aft of the filler cap, found it was on wrong, peeled it off with the aid of a hairdryer and re applied it between the filler and the forks

I'll try the hairdryer (when the Mrs is out, same as the recent heatshrink sleeving) it may save buying a new sticker.

That US thread has a glimpse of a black sticker on a gold K1, forward of the fuel cap. Mine is white, which looks right to me with Candy Green / Blue.

For some bizarre reason my bike came with the oil tank sticker on the side of the tank rather than the top, that got ruined getting it off, the new sticker came from Spain, via eBay.

Gently does it, you only need to soften the adhesive.   Too much heat and you'll stretch the decal.

Handy hint No. 25
When removing a sticker to re-position it, cover it with masking tape over a bigger area than the sticker, pull the masking tape whilst lifting a corner of the sticker with a sharp blade,  so as not to get greasy paw prints on the adhesive of the sticker. The masking tape will help to stop the sticker from stretching.
