Honda 400/4 wheels

Hi all I'm just in the process of respoking my wheels, the rims are pretty shabby and I was going to get them rechromed, however there are no part no's or Honda logos. So I suspect they may be pattern parts so it's pointless to rechroming I may as well replace, can anybody confirm if genuine Honda wheels gave any markings

Thanks obviously pattern ones so it's DS for me and replace, do you know if the hubs are painted or bare metal?

They're just lacquered,  which by now, most original lacquer has worn off.  I had mine polished before I built the wheels

There pretty grotty so I'll bead blast them then lacquer , did you replace the dampers , if so how did you get them out mine are pretty stuck thought of warming  up in the oven the missus isn't happy but needs must

Nah, didn't fancy trying to get them out and they looked ok so I left them there.

I replaced mine, but they were looking a bit worn, they are a bitch to get out mind!

The theory is you drill out the rubber and remove the debris then use a chisel and mallet and cut through the outer sleeve, slowly turning them inwards, they are nearly always corroded to the hub though. I had a machine shop get them out for me in the end as I didn't want to damage the hubs, but he used this method too.
If yours look OK I would leave them alone, it's a lot of hassle, but if they are worn and you don't replace you'll regret it later for sure. I think it cost me around £40 for the new cush drive rubbers and £70 for someone to remove them.

There out drilled the rubber gave it some plus gas then manged to get a bent tool under the lip and pull them out interestingly there was no outer case any ways inwards and upwards

They a riubber bush with steel on both inside and outside so if you havn't removed the outer it is still in there
