Hi All Not So New Newbie

Hi just got a few weeks ago a 1976 USA CB750F Supersport. Pretty much in original condition it came to these shores in 97. It had a oil leak on the neutral switch, oil leak on the tacho drive, leaking front brake master cylinder, and a bad misfire at 60mph+. All leaks now sorted and misfire down to coils and leads I think. I had a CB750f1 in 1977 first time around that I did over100,000mls on so do know them pretty well. Now revisiting my youth. Also in the garage 1973 CD175 K4, 1973 PC50 [still to restore]. 05 Blackbird. This and its cousin looks like a excellent source of information and entertainment.

Hi and welcome from a fellow F1 fan (Don't care what the others say, without a doubt the best looking SOHC 750!) What colour is yours, I bought a U.S. market candy sunrise orange tank and tailpiece from D.S.S. many years ago, never got why it wasn't offered in Europe, the red is nice, but can't warm to the sulphur yellow paintwork!

Welcome mate. F's are great bikes. My biggest bike regret was selling an original Flake Sunrise Orange F0 a few years back with mint original exhaust.

It is Antares Red. The tank is not too bad with just one tiny ding in it, but the tail piece looks like someone painted it with a stick. I can not make my mind up weather to get it painted or not. When I bought it I said I wasn't going to because its perfectly good enough to just ride and enjoy without throwing a shed load of money at it and turning it into a show pony, but I keep looking at the tail piece. .Who knows time will tell.

Antares red looks great on the F1, but it is a bitch of a job trying to match new paint with old, the only way to do it properly would be to do the tank and tailpiece together to ensure a good match, That said, they have enough distance between them to hardly be noticed except by a total anorak, so go with what you feel......

If I have it done both tank and tail piece will be done. I would send them to Dream Machine for doing. They did my CD175 a few years ago and did an excellent job at a competitive price compared to a lot of other painters I talked to.

Does a really top quality job apparently, and sensibly priced.
Several people on here have had work done by him.
