converting CB750 disc to 500

Looking at CB500 disc compared to Cb750K1-K6 the only difference is the diameter of the disc. The  carrier looks the same (same hub). Anyone see any problems with machining one down. I have a nice spare 750 one that was on my K0 (K0 is different) . The one on my 500 is drilled...probably a lot better performance than standard but I want to rebuild as standard.

Hi Ken ... if you have one spare to sell that would be great. Also did you manage to look for the 3-hole guard you said you might have. I have a grab rail now but I don't have the rear indicator stalks. Also need the 4 tab washers for sprocket but I think DS sells them if you don't have any. Not delved too deep into the engine  on mine yet but Bryan in selling me a gasket set. Top end looks OK so far.

I have an undrilled 500 disc lying around Ash, you want it? Postage might be high though as they ain't light.
I sent a 400/4 one not long ago via myHermes.
Can't remember what it weighed but upto 5Kg is £5.99, upto 10Kg is £7.69.
Much cheaper than Royal mail.

I have used Hermes a lot lately to pick up parts etc. I have nothing but the highest praise for their services........I bought a Triumph Petrol Tank and a Cylinder Head and e mailed the Collection Label to the Seller.......unbeknown to me he split them into two parcels........which hermes picked up OK.
A couple of days later the Tank arrived which left me with a horrible feeling that I'd never see the Cylinder Head (£125) again.......but the next day (Saturday - about 3PM) in a really awful downpour a nice young Lady delivered it.

For £7.49 I call that good service........especially as I bought 4 X Large Letter Stamps from the PO today (£3.80), a dozen first and a dozen second class stamps - NINETEEN POUNDS AND SEVENTY FOUR PENCE in total. At least Dick Turpin wore a mask!

The disc is still on a front wheel currently cluttering up my loft. Not a chance of getting up there till Tuesday at the earliest I'm afraid.

As for the mudguard, I have one in the shed which is a 3 hole type, it has a small but rather deep dent in it but the chrome is great. Plus the dent is where you could hit it out from the other side. Not sure what level of restoration your taking the K0 to, a perfect one and it wouldn't really do. A decent one and it may do.

I also have a NOS 3 hole type in the loft somewhere as well, won't be cheap though as it's a genuine Honda one not a copy and they are really hard to find these days.

Trying to get the bike to as high standard as I can without it being a money pit like my 750K0 Ken or taking forever to restore. Can you send me a pic of the dented one please. I don't mind paying 'proper' money for a perfect NOS one so don't be shy in asking for what you think it's worth  ;D. Tuesday is fine ..guess you have been sent up there like me to get the Christmas tree out. Tiles blew off my roof in the storms  a week or two back.... sent me immediately up in the loft to retrieve my NOS HM300 pipes ! The family were dumbstruck by my actions  ;D

It used to be women and children first in an emergency ash, now its hm300,s and cb750 stash  ha ha
