« on: January 02, 2016, 09:09:13 AM »
Hi just got here via the U.S. site, after a bike less few years the withdrawal symptoms have got too much so have just picked up what can best be described as a 550 k3/ 650a collage and a bit of a mystery  :o, it's essentially a '77 550 with a '79 650 motor, forks and wheels ,hybrid electrics and wiring loom (gonna have fun with that one) uk bike but on a '81 W plate........I know how to pick em

Yep that's the one, picked it up the same day it went on and not for the asking price either  ;) the plan is to put it back to a standard 550 but with summer round the corner (haha) and a sweet sounding motor bar jetting issues due to those cheap pods, it might become 'next' winters project yet. Just read the post you linked cheers made me chuckle, poor lad. Ok so here's the run down. It's a 77 cb550 frame, swing arm, and top end front,( fuse box also 550 not bar mounted as 650's) with cb 650 forks, comstars and rear pegs, with a 79 650 motor and pd carbs fitted) and of course those nasty cheap pods. Have picked up a correct seat for it off a friend and the rest of the air box components so far

Welcome to the Forum Tosh.......unusual bike you have there.....good job it rains a lot in your neck of the woods as you will probably need to spend plenty of time in the garage sorting it out.

Soon be spring though!

Good luck.
