Tut Tut Tut, not genuine Ash. Thought you were going down the "has to be genuine route"

Bargain though as they are hard to find new.

You have me all wrong Ken  :-[ .. Where decent repro stuff is about I will gladly use it ;) ... like the Yamiya CB750 'ducktail' seat CB750K0 , double cut Vietnam bare metal mudguard blade. The only thing I have a real passion for are Genuine exhausts but I guess I will be going down the DS/CMS route on my 500K0 , as there are no genuine one around less than £2k  :(

The tank catches looked pretty good and can't possibly be any weaker than the original ones. BTW they were a safety recall item... wonder if you can still claim a placement key operated one ( not that you needed a key) under the recall system  ;D

BTW posted today on another forum that Genuine Honda CB750, cylinder  head, flanged nuts from DS are 600% more than from Yamiya (even with VAT & import duty) and Yamiyas are in Honda bags.

Also bought these today for one on my CB250K0 'Twins. Not a bad deal apart from the naff bolts. What I do is use stainless m6 A2 hex heads , grind the markings off the top, then polish to a chrome like finish..

These indicators (without bolt and nut at all)  are £27.60 each  from DSS. So more than double plus post

I actually have a NOS tank latch which is most unusual. There is one on the tank in the loft which uses a key shaped like a reversed allen key, the NOS one is exactly the same. It's odd and no chance of anyone having a key shaped like the one required.
I have a funny feeling I may have a key that fits...

I bought the same set of Indicators from Haylingislandspares late last year for £50 including P&P and I thought they were a really good buy at that price as I had seen the odd original Indicator on E Bay for about the same price with no guarantee of their quality/ originality/ provenance.

It's a fine line between NOS/ Genuine Original parts and good quality aftermarket parts......which are often readily available at reasonable prices, and unless you are really pedantic about keeping your bike totally original - or even on the road - please don't dismiss such parts out of hand.

Perhaps if Members posted more information on the sohc Forum (and other Honda Forums) about individual aftermarket parts and Suppliers/ Dealers.....both good and bad, then we could encourage a better supply chain and put the crappy ones out of business. There is nothing a Supplier likes more than constructive and positive feedback so that his goods can be improved and he can have the confidence that what he sells will be profitable and hassle free. Smart Suppliers/ Dealers might also be more receptive to offering discounts to sohc Members if they feel that their sales will increase if they obtain additional products which we are keen to buy.

As the supply of genuine parts becomes harder to find, taking your original Indicators off and replacing them with these good quality ones for £50 might actually make your bike more valuable and encourage Dealers like Haylingislandspares to invest in a making a wider range of spares available for older bikes - which is something which we should all encourage.

The place selling the tank catch has lots of other stuff. Tried to register but pricing not available as I am not registered as a trader. Will try to join as trade on my business but will probably be rejected. Worth a go though, if not my mate in York is in the bike trade. He has a trade acc. with DS,  so must be eligible !
