Motorcycle Sales Brochures
« on: January 27, 2016, 10:46:43 AM »
Hi,

I have a large collection of bike sales brochures that may be of use or interest to those of you who are owners or restorers of bikes.

My collection is pretty complete for 1970 to 1999, and provided that the amount of work involved does not get too great I will be happy to post them up on this site probably in the gallery section.

In return if you download any of them a donation of your choice should be made toward the running of the site through the donations tab. I should point out that I have nothing to do with the running of the site and I will not benefit.

let me know what you want and I will post it up

Here is an example

Yes keep em coming Rob particularly early 70's ones. I have the Honda UK ones from 69/ 1970 with YLY70H press CB750K0  on it and CB250K0, 175 etc etc.  other with CB250K1 that I can scan. Plus tiddlers on the other side.

Sadly the 500/4 on that brochure is not on the DVLA register, so probably long gone now.

One of mine isn't in colour and has the original of this on it, which was the gold with white stripe on tank  CB750 sandcast 'Brighton Showbike' sold to Lord Denbigh. Think it was CGU 7H (still in the UK in bits). Discussed on here many times

You wouldn't see manufacturer's brochures nowadays showing rain *shock*...

I have an A3 version of the 500/4 on my office wall :)

Anyone got one of the full Honda range posters dating from 1978? I recall it showed all models from C50 to GL1000 and the Phil Read Replica. I had one on my bedroom door and would love one now, possibly even more than I did then! Ta, D.
Previous bikes:Puch Maxi 50, CD175, Suzuki T500, CX500, Z200, GS850, XS1100, GT750 (kettle), RD400, GTR1000 (not too many boastables in there!), CB750F2 Phil Read Replica

Drew,

It this one? not a Phil Read Replica I'll grant you, sorry there is a sheene on the photos, too big to scan.  All we need is a rostrum camera and you could have them in good quality; so I've included a consolation CD175.

Cheers

Many thanks Rob,

This may be it, but in my mind's eye the PRR was the last bike in the bottom right corner of the poster. I could be wrong. Am I perhaps thinking of a later poster, I wonder?

Appreciate the CD175 thought. A 1981 CX500 (red) would also be appreciated.

Donation on the way.

Cheers, D.

Thanks for sharing. Interesting that the cb750 k6 in that poster lineup has a k1 style chrome rear light bracket ? I thought the UK k6 had the black three hole style rear light bracket?

Yes but they always say that specifications are subject to change. I don't think that the bikes we bought always conform to the same exact specification.  I mean who can forget the debacle over the CB250 G5 rear mudguard; long or short ?  Mine was long and I wanted short!
