CB550F cafe style seat ideas?
« on: January 31, 2016, 02:50:33 PM »
Hello everyone.

I'm looking for ideas/experiences for my seat, into more of a café style for a newbie.
Ideally I want a flatter ribbed brown cover on the original pan.

Got a grab rail from SOHC, which I will get powdercoated with the frame.

The seat cover had a big tear and was letting in water for many years. I managed to get the cover and strap off, the pan is a bit rusty, but OK. The foam whilst being pretty smelly, had dried out fine and is complete.

I've seen videos of shaving the foam down and getting the seat upholstered, guess this isn't a cheap option.

Any ideas, thoughts, ideas are greatly welcomed

Sign up to the Pinterest website as there are loads of 'Trick' bike photos on there............I'm not a great lover of Cafe racers/ Bobbers/ Flat trackers etc but I have to take my hat off to the ingenuity and skill of some of the bike builders out there at present.......and I'm sure that you will find something to your taste.
