CB550 K1
« on: February 06, 2016, 05:42:50 PM »
Hi,
Seen a CB550 k1 for sale by Motorcycles Unlimited in London which I am interested in.
Wondering if any members have had dealings with this company in the past and have any recommendations.
As I am based in Scotland I would have to buy it sight unseen which is not always a good idea.
Having said that I have bought bikes this way in the past and it has worked out for me.
Thanks in advance.

Think that's frank in Greenford. Has some very nice stuff for sale but is normally  VERY expensive.

Had a quick look at the 550. Looks quite nice to me apart from the pipes but then I'm no expert. Someone will give you a better appraisal soon.

Thanks Wolfheze for your input, agreed, the pipes are not an endearing feature but these can be changed.

If that's the orange 550 K1 with the 4-2 pipes I'd say that's good value.

Stick a set of replica hm323's on it and enjoy.

Assuming those slash-cut exhausts are "empty", that's going to be one noisy bike!
If you are planning on long trips, you might want to consider changing them. Also, how picky are the cops round your way? It'll be impossible to ride unobtrusively.

Frank bought a CB750 from a close friend of mine last year (the 1970 on the website in blue, a John Wyatt/Rising Sun restoration). I had some help in setting up the deal whilst my friend, who is retired was on holiday and all dealings with Frank were straightforward.

I would not hesitate to deal with him myself.

I bought my 2008 Vmax from Frank. He was great to haggle with and is a good down to earth guy. His word is his bond. No hesitation recommending him. All his bikes looked fantastic.
