K0 500 Speedometer Gear Box - Fitting correctly
« on: February 22, 2016, 04:10:56 PM »
Is this supposed to be fixed somehow so it cannot rotate.

I have reassembled my front wheel and can't work out if the speedo drive is supposed to have a lug or something to stop it rotating. Right now it will rotate about 20 degress in each direction and seems to hit some kind of stop.

The Honda service manual says
"Make sure that the speedometer gear box is mounted in the proper position."

But it sadly does not say how to achieve this

If you think there's light at the end of the tunnel it's usually another train !!

It is held in place when you tighten the wheel spindle and make sure it is located with the dog drive right. This should be done before you mount the wheel back in the forks.
