DK Special update
« on: March 13, 2016, 10:50:00 AM »
Found the oil leak.....
When I bought it I could see it had been 'down the road' a few times but I wasn't expecting that.

Also, while I'm on: I've had all the plug leads off and didn't mark them. (doh!)
Looking at the points, I assume the leads from one coil serves cylinders 1 & 4, whilst the other serves 2 & 3. But which of the two coils goes to which??
1974 Honda XL250 K0 - Silver - owned for 32 years. Not running at the moment
1972 Honda CB750 K2 - Now candy apple red - Ex USA, a DK special - needs a lot more work than I thought - very quickly becoming a DS special...

Have a look inside the points cover to see what colour wire is connected to the set of points marked 1&4, then see which coil has that colour attached to it, and there is the answer. If the wiring is stock it'll be blue or yellow.

If it's got tits or wheels, it's hassle, if it's got both, RUN!!!

1,4 blue, 2,3 yellow.   Left points 1,4  Right points 2,3
Where's that 10mm socket got to?
