My new spray booth

I decided to spray my CR750 in honda race colours , red tank/seat and silver fairing, I'll change to the proper CR750 scheme later (and get it professionally done) , anyway it's too cold to paint outdoors so I built my own spray booth, and so far I've gotten away with it!, paint needs a polish with flour paper and paste when it's properly hard but not too bad so far, I'll have to wait til she visits her mom again to do the fairing 😀

Ha.....just reminds me of my Grandson when he's in the kack..........'A big boy did it and runded away' and also as my Grand Daughter said to her Dad 'Your'e gonna be in big trouble when Mum finds out'.........'Who's going to tell her' he asked.........'Me' she replied with her hand held out for a bribe.........

Anyway after the funeral, please pass my details on to your Missus and I'll buy all the bikes bike parts you have. Hahahahahahaha.

Ha, despite all the plastic sheeting particles of paint get everywhere, I spent an hour cleaning red dust from every horizontal surface, or so I thought!, a couple of days ago she asked why the baking tins on top of the cupboard were red, I just said "dunno, that's weird", I will use the "big boy did it and ran off" line if she finds anything else!.

Hi Phil I got it from John Clarjis in the Netherlands about 2 years ago, it's fibreglass , £235 delivered including all the fittings that you see in the photo and fuel taps, John said there was no need to use tank liner as he had tested them with ethanol fuel but I lined it to be on the safe side (paint wise), I will eventually move to an alloy tank but at £600+ it may not be soon!, obviously it's not overly safe using a fibreglass tank on a road bike in case of a crash but I'll risk it for now , here's johns email if you want one.

I did similar in the late 70's when mum and dad were away on holiday on a 1964 Triumph Bonnevile in the kitchen.
I rolled back the carpet did all my engine rebuild -  cleared up the mountain of oil from the floor - replaced carpet. Sorted.

For the next few months mum could not find the smell in the kitchen which had suddenly appeared and would not go away ,so after a stack of cleaning she decided it must be the carpet and took it up.

Opppppps By was I in Big Trouble when I got in from work. She still comments on it now when I have the parts in the house working.

Mums are great  - She laughs about it now, but at the time she raised the roof

My dad painted a petrol tank in the 70's and it wouldn't dry because it still had paint stripper residue on it. So he put it in the oven it got so hot he couldn't get it out. If my grandad finds out he will still give him an ear full.
My mum caught me boiling a master cylinder on the hob just before she died.
She walked in and asked what I was cooking when she lifted the lid of the pan all hell broke lose.

Dishwashers are great at cleaning up crankcases, especially the glass beads that get everywhere after bead blasting.  Dishwashers are also good for cooking fish but don't do it the same time as doing crankcases because it makes the engine smell fishy.

I baked the calipers in the oven but there must of been a bit of brake fluid still in one of them. Results of the paint finish was very impressive but the bottom of the oven is ruined. My wife has still not forgiven me.
